2017 Winners

A big congratulations to all the girls and young women who entered the 2017 New Mexico Girls Make Movies grant competition. Your stories, screenplays, and poems were creative, exciting, and inspiring. We’re so grateful that you applied!

In this, our first year, we had entries from girls and young women, age 12–25, from all across New Mexico, including Albuquerque, Corrales, Deming, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Los Lunas, Lovington, Portales, Rio Rancho, Roswell, Santa Fe, and Taos.

With over 65 entries, our judges had their work cut out for them and the decision-making process wasn’t easy.

And now (drumroll, please!) the winners of the 2017 New Mexico Girls Make Movies grant competition!
